A brand-new website for the upcoming film in the Detective Conan (Case Closed) franchise released the title for the new film, a visual, and a teaser trailer. The film is titled Meitantei Conan: Sekigan no Flashback (Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback) and is set to be released on April 18, 2025.
The staff for the film released a new visual for the film drawn by the creator of Detective Conan, Gosho Aoyama. The location of the latest film will be taking place in the beautiful snow-covered mountainside located in the Nagano Prefecture. The new visual revealed Yamato, an inspector in Nagano with an injured left eye, and Kogoro, a major character who had a last major role in a film back in the ninth movie Detective Conan: Strategy Above the Depths in 2005. Another notable feature was Taka’aki and Yui, who both come from the Nagano Prefecture.

Katsuya Shigehara (unit director of Detective Conan: Kurogane no Submarine) is directing the film. Takeharu Sakurai (various Detective Conan movies) is writing the script. Both visuals tease an incident that took place on a snowy mountain that connects the past and present!

Detective Conan was first serialized in Shogakukan’s Shonen Manga Magazine, Weekly Shonen Sunday in January 1994 and has been an ongoing series since, consisting of 106 tankobon volumes as of October 2024. Viz Media publishes the manga for English Audiences and publishes the series’ chapters receiving simultaneous English publication in North America as they are released in Japan on the Viz Manga app. Detective Conan inspired a TV anime adaption, and 27 animated films (the most recent film being the highest-grossing film in the franchise.) Twelve OVAs, nine TV Specials, three spin-off manga titles, a Live-Action Drama, and numerous video game adaptions, Crunchyroll streams the TV anime.
