We’re following up on a previous article from last week regarding the live-action adaptation of Masakazu Katsura’s Superhero manga, WING-MAN. Five more cast members have joined the upcoming TV series, the staff for the new series also featured a brand-new first look and a new character visual of the cast.
The newly announced cast members are as follows from top left to bottom right:

- Kitakura-sensei– Mamoru Miyano
- Matsuoka-sensei– Kurara Emi
- Seidō Hirono– Kōji Matoba
- Yoshiko Hirono– Shinobu Nakayama
- The Prime Minister– Daikichi Sugawara
These new members will be joining Maito Fujioka (Kamen Rider: Beyond Generations, Kimi to Yukite Saku: Shinsengumi Seishun Roku, Cool Doji Danshi) and Konatsu Kato (Farewell, Good Day, A Story to Read When You First Fall in Love) who were previously announced. For staff, we have Kōichi Sakamoto (Kamen Rider W, Kamen Rider Fourze, Kamen Rider Ghost) directing the TV series, Yoshitatsu Yamada, Masaki Nishigaki (live-action Sayonara, High School), and Yuya Nakazono (episode scripts for Bono Bono, Japan Sinks: 2020) are penning the scripts for the series. The series will debut on October 22 at 24:30 (effectively, October 23 at 12:30 a.m.) to celebrate the series’ 40th anniversary, with new episodes every Tuesday. The series will also run on the DMM TV service a week prior, beginning on October 16. TV Tokyo and Toei Video are producing in collaboration with DMM TV. Masakazu Katsura’s Wing-Man would be first serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine in January 1983 and ran until August 1985, each chapter collected into 13 tankobon volumes. It would inspire an anime adaptation in 1984 and a visual novel game.

A second-year middle school student named Kenta Hirono, who is a Tokusatsu Nerd who dreams of becoming a superhero. One day, a mysterious woman named Aoi from the realm of Podreams appears before him. After sketching his superhero Wingman on the Woman’s Dream Notebook, he’s able to transform into the hero and become involved in a fight between good and evil.
