Yaiba TV Anime Reveals Main Cast, Staff, and New Promo Video

This week was full of surprises, but the biggest had to have been about the TV Anime adaptation of Gōshō Aoyama‘s Yaiba. The adaptation titled Shin Samurai-den YAIBA picked up a new cast, and staff list, Key Visual, and a new promo video.

As for the staff, Takahiro Hasui will be directing the series at WIT Studio, Touko Machida will be in charge of the series scripts, and Yoshimichi Kameda will be serving as both the Character Designer and chief animation director. Takeshi Maenami will also be a character designer and main animator, Yutaka Yamada and Yoshiaki Dewa are composing the music. Haru Yamada is the sound director, and Maiko Okada is the animation producer.

Aoyama launched the manga series in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday in September 1988. The series concluded in December 1993 with a total of 24 compiled book volumes. It also inspired a 52-episode anime adaptation that ran from April 1993 to April 1994. Yaiba is always referenced in Aoyama’s other series, Detective Conan (Case Closed).
