Big news coming from Toei recently, the comedy duo Jaru Jaru has been confirmed to be joining the cast of the new Precure film: Wonderful Precure! The Movie! Dokidoki ♡ Game no Sekai de Daibouken! (Heart-Pounding- A Great Adventure In The World of Games!)
Jaru Jaru will be lending their comedic and vocal talents as the Precure allies, Ponta & Pokota. According to the press release, Ponta & Pokota are part of a hugely popular game titled DokiDoki♡Tanukingdom! Ponta & Pokota will guide Komugi and her friends who have entered the game world. Goto Junpei will be voicing Ponta, a fluffy raccoon who ends his sentences with the phrase “Pon”, and making his voice acting debut as Fukutoku Shūsuke as Pokota, Pokota is a tall raccoon who ends his sentences with the phrase “Poko”. The Raccoon duo are facilitators in the game that Komugi and her friends are playing under a Raccoon Boss who holds the secret behind the Game World. While they try to do everything to block the way, they become “beloved characters” that are filled with charm that makes them hard to hate. Here is a fun fact about Jaru Jaru, they began their comedy team in April 2003, accomplishing new records as they went and won many comedy championships over the years. As a reminder, Witchy Precure! (13th Series) and Soaring Sky Precure! (20th Series) will be joining forces with the Wonderful Precure team. Fun fact according to Crunchyroll, Witchy Precure! Will be getting a sequel series in 2025. The First Slam Dunk’s unit director, Naoki Miyahara will be directing the new Wonderful Precure! Film. Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!, Yokai Watch) will write the screenplay, and Risa Miyatani (Akaitsu Planet!) will be handling the character designs. The new film will debut in theaters on September 13, and be sure to watch Wonderful Precure! now on Crunchyroll.
