The Official Twitter account for CW’s Superman & Lois teases not only a trailer release (later today) but also the question, What is a world without a Superman? The final season looks to be adapting the iconic story arc The Death of Superman by writers Dan Jurgens, Roger Stern, Louise Simonson, Jerry Ordway, and Karl Kesel, and artists Jon Bogdanove, Tom Grummett, Jackson Guice, Dan Jurgens, Dennis Janke, Denis Rodier, Walt Simonson, Curt Swan, and M. D. Bright.

If you recall in the third season finale cliffhanger, Superman took on a Bizarro Superman that was transformed into one of Superman’s deadliest foes, Doomsday (a clever nod to another storyline from DC, the 2014 story arc Superman: DOOMED). Fans have speculated that Doomsday would eventually make an appearance on the show with what was foreshadowed from the third episode from Season Two, when Bizarro Superman arrived from the Inverse in the Shuster Mines, wearing a suit that looked similar to what Doomsday wore in his first appearance.
The Death of Superman was a crossover story that made its debut in December 1992 and lasted until October 1993, the story crossed over between Superman, Action Comics, The Adventures of Superman, Superman: The Man of Steel, Justice League America, and Green Lantern. The actual story was broken down into three parts: Doomsday!, Funeral for a Friend, and Reign of the Supermen. The story would be reprinted in various formats, adapted into a video game, and various animated adaptations (both in animated TV shows to three animated films), and was adapted in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Superman & Lois Season Four will premiere on October 17 (8-10 pm EST/PT) for a special two-hour premiere event on the CW Network.
Superman was created by Jerry Sigel and Joe Shuster. He made his heroic debut in Action Comics #1 in June 1938 (Cover Dated June 1938, published on April 18, 1938). Since his debut, Superman has been adapted into numerous forms of merchandise and media such as Television, Films, Radio Serials, Novels, Theater, and Video Games.

After years of facing supervillains, monsters, and alien invaders, the world’s most famous superhero, The Man of Steel aka Clark Kent and comic books’ famed journalist Lois Lane come face to face with one of their greatest challenges ever, being working parents in today’s society.
