Many still wish that there was an English Dub of FUUTO PI, Kamen Rider W, and Tokusatsu fans are getting a pretty nice consolation prize in the form of the first Kamen Rider animated film! Toei announced FUUTO PI: Kamen Rider Skull no Shōzō (FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull).
Toei will be adapting the story from Riku Sanjō and Masaki Satō’s Fūto Tantei‘s Sixth Volume, which also is an extension of Kamen Rider W’s episode, Begins Night. The film will debut in theaters for a limited viewing in Japan, the date has been set for November 8, 2024. Also, it has been confirmed that Kenjirō Tsuda (Yu-Gi-Oh, Jujutsu Kaisen, The Way of the House Husband) will be portraying Sōkichi Narumi, a detective, and founder of the Narumi Detective Office in Futo City and Shotaro Hidari’s Sensei.

Fūto Tantei’s Masaki Satō weighed in on this big announcement on social media, sharing their excitement for the film and a beautiful illustration of Fūto Tantei’s sixth volume cover. Studio Kai also released a new statement regarding their Anime Expo panel, Director Yosuke Kabashima will be joining the stage panel, where Studio Kai will share the first 20 minutes of FUUTO PI: Portrait of Kamen Rider Skull. The panel takes place on Saturday, July 6 at 7:30 pm in room 404 AB.
Futō Tanteī is a continuation of Toei’s Kamen Rider W television series that was written by Riku Sanjō and illustrated by Masaki Satō. It made its debut in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Spirits Magazine in August 2017 and is currently an ongoing title. The series has been collected into 16 volumes so far. The manga inspired an anime adaptation and stage play.
