It’s time to get back in the swing of things, and we’re starting it off with This Week In The Nerd Fandom. Several big announcements happened recently, whether it was Netflix confirming the two-part Sailor Moon Cosmos Films to be added to their service, or Marvel debuting a new Avengers Spin-off title, we’ll be looking at the newest Game announcements from this weekend as well! The Summer Game Fest Showcase Reveals New Footage of Lego Horizon Adventures, Sonic x Shadows Generations, and Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero

We’re starting our News Roundup with this year’s Summer Game Fest. This Summer Video Game Showcase had fans on the edge of their seat with what they could expect, one of the most disappointing announcements from the Showcase had to be Hasbro continuing to ride the coattails of their cash cow merchandise line, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. But, we have seen other unique titles in the lineup such as Lego Horizon Adventures (Holiday 2024, Playstation 5), No More Room In Hell 2 (Early Access Available This Halloween), Sonic x Shadow Generations (October 25, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games), and Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero (Available October 11, for PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S. For more information on what was announced, head over to IGN.

Netflix to Stream Sailor Moon Cosmos Two-Part Film

Two days ago, Netflix announced that it would stream Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie. The two-part film project would adapt the final arc, Shadow Galactica, from Naoko Takeuchi’s Sailor Moon manga series. The film will stream on Netflix on August 22.

DC Unveils A New Trailer for Absolute Power

DC recently streamed a new trailer for their upcoming event Absolute Power, which sees Waller, Failsafe, and the Brainiac Queen have begun to turn up the heat on the heroes, in their quest to eliminate all meta-humans in the DC Universe! Absolute Power begins with Absolute Power #1, on sale on July 3 at your local comic book store!

Steve Rogers Assembles A New Mega-Squad for ‘Avengers Assemble

Captain America (Steve Rogers) is recruiting old and new members of the Avengers for an all-new squad! His team will operate out of Avengers Mansion and tackle one crisis after another on globetrotting superhero missions! Avengers Assemble will have the creative team of writer Steve Orlando (Scarlet Witch, OUTLAW TERRITORY, Love Is Love) and a powerhouse art team consisting of Cory Smith (WOLVERINE, GHOST RIDER), Scot Eaton (CABLE), Marcelo Ferreira (MOON KNIGHT: CITY OF THE DEAD), Valentina Pinti (IMMORTAL THOR, BLADE) and much more. Anime Studio GAINAX Declared Bankruptcy

Three days ago, Studio GAINAX announced on its website that the business had officially filed for bankruptcy with the Tokyo District Court on May 29, with the court accepting the application. For those who aren’t familiar with the studio, GAINAX produced classic anime such as FLCL, Gunbuster, Gurren Lagann, and NEON GENESIS EVANGELION. Voice Actor Zeno Robinson Creates English Dub Trailer For Go! Go! Loser Ranger to Promote Dub Release

With the premiere of the English Dub of the TV anime based on Negi Haruba’s Go! Go! Loser Ranger coming up tomorrow, voice actor Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, The Owl House, Pokémon Journeys: The Series) took matters into his own hands to help promote the Dub with a new trailer, since it was clear that Disney Plus and Hulu weren’t making the effort to promote it. Nintendo Switch Online Adds Five Megaman Gameboy Titles to Gameboy Virtual Console

Nintendo surprised fans with a brand-new announcement regarding their Nintendo Switch Online game updates for June. Just in time for Mega Man Day (June 9), they released five Megaman Gameboy Games on the Gameboy Virtual Console. Megaman 1-5 are available now, all you need is a Nintendo Switch Online Membership to access it.
