What does Action and Summer have in common? I’ll tell you, they are both beginning to heat up! Toei has announced three new cast members that will be joining the upcoming film Kamen Rider Gotchard/Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger The Summer Movie!
We’ll begin with the first two cast members, joining the Kamen Rider Gotchard Summer Movie will be comedian Yoshio Kojima (Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Shinkon Ryokō Hurricane, Hugtto! Precure, Sasuke) as Tetsuo Tajima, a mysterious alchemist from the future that wears a white coat and colorful swim trunks. For the Boonboomger Summer film, YouTuber HIKAIN (I Will Be Your Bloom, Sasuke) will be starring as himself. Joining HIKAIN will be actress Himena Irei (Toto Nêchan, Mukô no hate, Oshi ga Budôkan ittekuretara shinu) who will be taking on the role of Princess Nicola, who has escaped to earth. Kamen Rider Gotchard/Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger The Summer Movie was first announced in April 2024, confirming that the cast from both television shows will be returning to reprise their roles. The new movie will open nationwide in Japan on Friday, July 26.
The 48th entry into the Super Sentai Franchise, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is the Fifth Sentai Team in the Reiwa Era, following other Reiwa Sentai Heroes such as Mashin Sentai Kiramager, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, and Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. Meanwhile, Kamen Rider Gotchard was the 38th entry into the Kamen Rider Franchise and the fifth rider to be in the Reiwa Era, following other riders such as Kamen Rider Zero-One, Kamen Rider Saber, Kamen Rider Revice, and Kamen Rider Geats.
