Dark Horse Manga and legendary manga creator Yasuhiro Nightow have teamed up for one highly-anticipated cover art reveal for Trigun Deluxe Edition and Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition.

And there’s more: while fans have been eagerly anticipating the final cover art and release of these first two volumes, Dark Horse has been hard at work on those that follow. Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Volume 2 and Volume 3 will follow in short order, and all these volumes are now available for pre-order wherever comics and books are sold.

These four volumes will be released in quick succession beginning in September 2024 with Trigun Deluxe Edition, followed by Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Volume 1 in October, Volume 2 in November, and Volume 3 in December. It collects the original Trigun Maximum series volumes 1-3 in 704 pages. It is available for pre-order now on AmazonBarnes & Noble, and at your local comic shops and bookstores for $49.99.

Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Vol. 3 Cover

Trigun Maximum Deluxe Edition Volume 3 (of 5) will be available December 10, 2024 from bookstores, and December 11, 2024 from comic shops. This collects original series volumes 7-9 in 632 pages, and is available to pre-order now from local comic shops and bookstoresAmazon, and Barnes & Noble for $49.99.

Trigun was written and illustrated by Yasuhiro Nightow. The manga was first serialized in Tokuma Shoten’s Shonen manga magazine Monthly Shōnen Captain from March 1995 to December 1996, until the magazine ceased its publication, its chapters were collected in three tabkobon volumes. The series would begin again in Shōnen Gahoshas seinen magazine, Young King OURS under the title Trigun Maximum, from October 1997 to March 2007. Shōnen Gahosha republished the Trigun chapters in two volumes and collected the Trigun Maximum chapters in 14 volumes. In 2003, Dark Horse announced that it would acquire the license to publish Trigun for English audiences. The following year, Dark Horse would acquire the license for Trigun Maximum as well.

Trigun has been adapted twice for animated series titles, the first was animated by Madhouse Studios in 1998, which includes a later film in 2010 titled Trigun: BADLANDS RUMBLE. The second series titled Trigun: Stampede was animated by ORANGE and premiered in January 2023. The TV Anime adaptations and the film are available to stream on Crunchyroll.
