Flop after Flop at the Box Office, DC, and Warner Bros Discovery is going back to square one with James Gunn’s upcoming superhero film, Superman: Legacy. Recently, the writer-director shared a new look at the Man of Steel’s new look.

James Gunn shared the first look on his Threads account of the main star, David Corenswet (Moe & Jerryweather, The Politician, We Own This City) is finally in his new costume and it looks phenomenal, a clever nod to Superman’s New 52 and modern costumes.

The first look certainly offers several key details, such as how weathered and dirty it looks. Gunn noted that it was taken on set by Jess Miglio and was entirely in-camera. The first-look photo also has inspired new memes to pop up after the big reveal. It has been described as the role of a lifetime for David Corenswet, making it his first major Hollywood film and taking on one of the biggest icons in Comic Book History and Pop Culture. Joining him will be Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Manhattan, House of Cards) as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult (X-Men First Class, Crossing Swords, The Great) as Superman’s arch nemesis, Lex Luthor. It will also include Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner), Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl) and more.
