A month ago, fans were surprised to find out about the newest Super Sentai series that will be coming our way soon, Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger! Now, we got another new look at this heroic new team and the return of Maasaki Endoh to perform the show’s opening theme.
According to a new press release, Masaaki Endoh is returning once again to the realm of Tokusatsu to perform the opening theme. It will be the first time in 21 years that he has performed an opening theme for a Super Sentai television series. Endoh performed the opening theme for Bakuryu Sentai Abaranger and Tsubaraya Production’s Ultraman Z.
As for the new visual, the action jumps off the page with vibrant colors! Bringing a first look at the Sentai team’s new members, Boon Rangers Black and Orange, and their new Boonboomger Mechas/Giant Mecha. A press conference for the upcoming series will be held on February 18 at 10:00 am JST on Toei Tokusatsu Official YouTube, TTFC (Toei Tokusatsu Fan Club), video distribution platform “TELASA”, and TV Asahi Super Hero Time YouTube channel. The creative team and staff were previously announced with Shojiro Nakazawa (Kamen Rider EX-AID, Kamen Rider Geats: 4 Aces and The Black Fox, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger) will be directing the series, Atsuhiro Tomioka (Captain Tsubasa, Chrono Crusade, Pokemon) will write the screenplay, and Jun Watanbe (Engine Sentai Go-onger, Kamen Rider Build, and Kamen Rider EX-AID) is the action director, and Hiroshi Butsuda (Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Chouniki Sentai Ohranger, and Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive) is the SFX Director.
With this being the 48th entry into the Super Sentai Franchise, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is the Fifth Sentai Team in the Reiwa Era, following other Reiwa Sentai Heroes such as Mashin Sentai Kiramager, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, and Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. The series will debut on March 3, 2024, at 9:30 am JST on TV Asahi’s Super Hero Time Line-up, joining Kamen Rider Gotchard.
