Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger To Make Their Debut In Spring 2024

In a surprise announcement, Toei has unveiled the 48th entry to the Super Sentai Series, Bakuage Sentai BoonBoomger! A familiar theme that is a call back to other iconic Sentai teams such as Kousoku Sentai Turbo Ranger, Gekisou Sentai Carranger, and GoGo Sentai Boukenger.

Toei trademarked and registered the name in September, but there have been speculations on what the new series would be about. Luckily, the company unveiled new information on both their website and the show’s new website. Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is the eighth vehicle themed Sentai team in the franchise’s history.

The creative team and staff was announced as well, Shojiro Nakazawa (Kamen Rider EX-AID, Kamen Rider Geats: 4 Aces and The Black Fox, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger) will be directing the series, Atsuhiro Tomioka (Captain Tsubasa, Chrono Crusade, Pokemon) will write the screenplay, and Jun Watanbe (Engine Sentai Go-onger, Kamen Rider Build, and Kamen Rider EX-AID) is the action director, and Hiroshi Butsuda (Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, Chouniki Sentai Ohranger, and Kyukyu Sentai GoGoFive) is the SFX Director. Listed below is a description of each new Boonboomger:

Boon Red– Always positive and has a passionate heart. He has the ability to see through the essence of things, has a strong competitive instinct, and leads the team by making quick decisions.
Boon Blue– A reliable fighter with a high degree of professionalism, and while he is cool, he also has a passionate side that burns up the more the hurdles get higher.
Boon Pink– The mood maker for the team, and is the type of person who is full of curiosity and energy. She brightens up the team with her emotional and innocent character.

With this being the 48th entry into the Super Sentai Franchise, Bakuage Sentai Boonboomger is the Fifth Sentai Team in the Reiwa Era, following other Reiwa Sentai Heroes such as Mashin Sentai Kiramager, Kikai Sentai Zenkaiger, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers, and Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger. The series will debut on March 3, 2024 in the Super Hero Time Line-up, joining Kamen Rider Gotchard after the finale of Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger.
