GKIDS Announce The English Dub Cast For The Boy And The Heron

On Tuesday, GKIDS released new information regarding the upcoming film, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron (Kimi-tachi wa Dō Iriku Ka, or How Do You Live?) that included the English Dub Cast List.

GKIDS handled the casting and producing of the English Version with close consultation with Studio Ghibli. The company also produced the Dub by the SAG-AFTRA Foreign Dubbing Agreement. Michael Sinterniklaas is the dub’s director at NYAV Post, and Stephanie Sheh is the English scriptwriter.

The Boy and The Heron debuted in Japan on July 14, it would go on to earn 8,333,397,800 yen (USD 55.60 million), becoming the 75th highest-grossing film in Japan. The film made its international debut at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in September, it would also be the first time that the festival would open with an animated film and the first time a Japanese film to open as well. The film made its debut at the San Sebastian Film Festival (SSFF) in late September, and it has been confirmed that it will also be making its North American debut at the Animation Is Film Festival (AIFF) on October 18, joining another anime film that will also be making its North American Debut, The Concierge. The Boy and The Heron will debut in North American Theater on December 8th.
