Castlevania Nocturne Season Two Is In Production

Netflix announced on Friday that the animated spin-off series based on Konami’s iconic game series Castlevania, Castlevania Nocturne, would be getting a second season.

Netflix uploaded a new video on Friday to announce that Nocturne would be getting a second season. The series premiered on September 28th and has gotten plenty of praise for not only the quality of the animation, but for how well-written the story is, and its diversity.

It was announced in April 2021 that Netflix was eyeing a series that was set in the same universe that the original series was set in. It would be two months later when a spin-off series would be teased by the original series’ executive producer Kevin Kolde and director Sam Deats. Richter and Maria are protagonists in the Castlevania: Rondo of Blood game, and they also appear in other games in the series including Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. The new series will see the return of the showrunner Kevin Kolde and Creator/Writer Clive Bradley. It will be produced by Project 51 Productions with production services by Powerhouse Animation.

The original Castlevania animated series first premiered on Netflix in July 2017 and ended in May 2021 with Season Four. The Animated Series is an adaptation based on Konami’s iconic video game series by the same name. The Castlevania animated series is available on Netflix and Blu-Ray thanks to Viz Media.
