September’s New York Times Best Sellers List for Graphic Novels and Manga saw a battle of Curse Users and Jujutsu Sorcerers and the love of two teens take over the chart. This month is still action-packed, but we’re seeing superheroes making a comeback with Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia Vol. 35 in the top five at No. 3.
Meanwhile, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen Vol. 20 continues its stay on the list but has dropped down to No. 9, and the first volume stepping up at No. 14. Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball Super makes its return with Vol. 19 taking No. 11.
Alice Oseman’s Heartstopper has disappeared off the list for now, but replacing the romance are some interesting YA Horror-Themed titles with Scott Cawthorn’s FNAF Freddy Fazbear’s Fright Tales Vol. 1 and Vol. 3. Five Nights at Freddy’s has been having a good year, and the first feature film is set to be released on October 27th in theaters and on Peacock.
