A day ago, it was one of the biggest virtual showcases for streaming entertainment. Netflix unleashed its DROP 01 and showcased several new animated projects that will be coming to their streaming service, which included the newly released animated series based on Konami’s iconic horror game series, Castlevania. It brought two new adaptations based on Tomb Raider, and Devil May Cry. Let’s take a look!
Sonic Prime
Speaking of iconic video games, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Shadow The Hedgehog are in a race to save the world and stop that nefarious fiend, Doctor Octopus (Oops, wrong villain!) Nine. In the new sneak peek, Nine is on a mission to fix the shatter-verse in his image. No release date has been confirmed yet, but the new metal versions of Sonic’s Allies are fascinating.
Castlevania Nocturne
Castlevania Nocturne made its debut today, but it was DROP 01 that quenched the thirst fans were craving for Richter Belmont and more Castlevania. The sneak peek was the first seven minutes of the new series. Castlevania Nocturne is available now on Netflix.
Pluto

Another series that fans have been looking for is the adaptation of Urasawa and producer Takashi Nagasaki’s senien drama Pluto, which features a re-imagined world based on Osamu Tezuka’s Astro Boy. We only picked up one visual for the upcoming series, which debuts on October 26th.
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off!
A new clip was introduced for Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, where Scott gets the idea of ordering a film from Netflix to see Ramona. According to Bryan O’Malley, it will consist of 8 episodes, with the screenplay written by O’Malley and Ben David Grabinski with the director of the live-action adaptation Edgar Wright serving as a producer. The Film’s original cast will also reprise their roles. It will be available on November 16.
Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix

Inspired by Far Cry 3’s Blood Dragon DLC, Adi Shankar (Castlevania) teams up with Ubisoft Film & Television and Bobbypills for Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. It brings us an interesting concept of bringing several characters and elements from Ubisoft’s franchises such as Beyond Good and Evil’s Jade and Pay’J, Rayman, and Farcry 4’s Pagan Min. For a detailed cast list, IGN has the full details, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix will premiere on October 19.
Masters of the Universe: Revolution
A new clip was shown for Kevin Smith and Mattel’s Masters of The Universe: Revelations, He-Man and King Randor are up against the evil Scare Glow. Masters of the Universe: Revelations is set to premiere in 2024.
