Yesterday was the Haikyu!! Festa and the Haikyu anime staff released a new teaser trailer and visual for the upcoming film, Gekijoban Haikyu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump!). But that wasn’t all of the good news, the director and writer were also announced.
According to the new announcement, Susumu Mitsunaka will be in charge of directing and writing the script for the film. The Premiere has been set for February 16th, 2024.
Toho Animation is returning to produce the two-part Haikyu!! FINAL film, with animation continuing to be made at Production I.G. Haikyu!! was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, it was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2012 to July 2020 with 402 chapters collected into 45 volumes. It has been adapted for TV Anime, a Radio Drama, Four OVAs, Video Games, and a series of Stage Plays. Viz Media licensed and published the manga for English audiences, the chapters are available to read on the Shonen Jump app. The Haikyu!! TV Anime is available now to stream on Crunchyroll.
