It was August 30th, 1978, when the world learned of a womanizer named Ataru Moroboshi and his alien fiancé Lum made their debut on the pages of Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday Manga Magazine. Since its debut, the manga has had 366 chapters, which were published in 34 volumes. It has been adapted into two TV anime series (with the second series’ second season currently set to debut in 2024), six animated films, and twelve OVAs.

In a high-stakes game of tag, Ataru must touch Lum’s horns in ten days—or aliens will take over the earth! The fact that Lum can fly doesn’t make Ataru’s job any easier. As it turns out, the game of tag is only the beginning of Ataru’s troubles, as he continues to attract strange encounters with otherworldly beings like beautiful snow spirit Oyuki and the sexy crow goblin Princess Kurama!
