For those who don’t know, today is Haikyu!! Day and what way to capitalize on the big day, then with news regarding the two-part film project. It revealed the title for the first part, and the logo for the upcoming film.
The project was first announced last year, without further ado, the first title for part one titled Gekijoban Haikyu!! Gomi Suteba no Kessen (Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump!). The new logo also showcases the climactic battle between Karasuno High and Nekoma High following the anime’s fourth season.
Toho Animation will return to produce the two-part Haikyu!! FINAL film, with animation continuing to be made at Production I.G. At this time, however, the staff for both films and dates for both films will be confirmed at a later date. More information will be coming up on September 24th.
Haikyu!! was written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate, it was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from February 2012 to July 2020 with 402 chapters collected into 45 volumes. It has been adapted for TV Anime, a Radio Drama, Four OVAs, Video Games, and a series of Stage Plays. Viz Media licensed and published the manga for English audiences, the chapters are available to read on the Shonen Jump app. The Haikyu!! TV Anime is available now to stream on Crunchyroll.
