X Corp Sues Nonprofit Group That Tracks Hate Speech
The Self-Proclaimed Free-Speech Absolutist and Owner of X Corp is suing the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), accusing the CCDH of orchestrating a “scare campaign to drive away advertisers from the X platform”. NBC News also mentioned that the lawsuit was filed just hours after the CCDH revealed that Musk’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, had sent the organization a letter on July 20 saying X Corp. was investigating whether the CCDH’s “false and misleading claims about Twitter” were actionable under federal law. For more information on this, head over to NBC News. In this writer’s opinion, if Elon Musk was so afraid of advertisers being driven away, then he needs to stop the racist, homophobic, and antisemitic content that has increased since he took over the social media platform, which includes the promotion of hateful rhetoric made by the owner.
