The Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest is in full swing this weekend, and it looks like we’re finally getting that long-awaited trip to the beach, thanks to the MMORPG’s seventh expansion, Dawntrail.
The Fan Fest took place in Las Vegas, bringing fans fun and entertainment, and vast new information regarding their favorite MMORPG which included a new trailer that reintroduced the series’ main characters as they explore a tropical island.
The story takes place after the events of Endwalker, taking place in a new area called Tural, which lies over the ocean to the far west of Eozera. Where the Warriors of Light will assist in a rite of succession to determine Tural’s next ruler. The rite will involve a contest that would take them to a fabled city of gold, but the scions will be involved in this event, even facing the possibility that this contest will cause the scions to split into two factions. Tural will also offer access to a new hub city called Tuliyollal, located in a larger region called Yok Tural. Dawntrail will include several new features, including new tribes such as the Pelupelu. Here are other features that will be included in patch 7.0:
- A level cap increase from level 90 to 100, including new skills for all jobs
- Multiple new jobs
- New dungeons
- New enemies
- A duty support update
- New gear and recipes
- New lifestyle content
- New variant dungeons
- New raids, including a new Alliance raid
- PvP update
With Dawntrail being set to debut in the Summer of 2024, the game will be released on XBox with an Open Beta, according to IGN. Final Fantasy XIV is available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, and PC.
