Zero-One, Saber, Revice, and Geats, these are the Riders who descended into the Reiwa Era, fighting passionate battles, fueled with their respective beliefs in their hearts and bringing hope and wonder. Now, we’re about to meet a brand-new Rider who will join these other heroes as the future looks bright. That hero’s name is Kamen Rider Gotchard!
According to a new press release, this new rider is an alchemist who manipulates the cards in various ways. As many of you are aware, Alchemy was the forerunner of chemistry, based on the transformation of matter, an attempt to transforn metals into gold or silver, but this new story will focus on how one experiment artificially brought a race of creatures to life, and how the experiments were continued in secret.
As the story progresses, we learn more about Chemies, artificial lifeforms that were made to imitate things that exist in our world such as Grasshoppers, were created by the art of the best alchemy techniques and were carefully stored in Rider Chemy Cards. Until one day, they were released all at once into the wild. This accidentally involved our new protagonist, Houtarou Ichinose who has been entrusted with the Gotcha Driver and tasked with collecting the chemie that have been released into the world. When it comes to the Chemies, some are well suited for human companionship if it resonates with a good heart. If they are influenced by Human Malice however, there is the danger of them birthing monsters known as the Malgam. The story will explore the nature of good and evil, which are two sides of the same coin. Will Ichinose get all 101 Rider Chemy Cards? Or will he let his carelessness mark the destruction of the world?
At this time, there isn’t a cast list. However, there has been a staff list that consists of Ryuta Tasaki (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, Cutie Honey: The Live) will direct, while Keiichi Hasegawa (Ultraman, Kamen Rider, SSSS. GRIDMAN and SSSS. DYNAZENON), and Hiroki Uchida (Kamen Rider, Ultraman, The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest) are the screenwriters. Shotaro Ishinomori has also been included in the credit as well. Toei has also confirmed that Gotchard will make an appearance in the upcoming Kamen Rider film, Kamen Rider Geats: Four Aces and The Black Fox which will debut in theaters on July 28th. Kamen Rider Gotchard will premiere on September 3rd on TV Asahi’s SUPERHERO TIME block alongside Ohsama Sentai King-Ohger at 9 am JST.
