This Week In The Nerd Fandom: San Diego Comic-Con Edition Pt. One

Hello everyone! It’s that time of the year, it’s SDCC time! San Diego Comic-Con is in full stride, and we’re having a special edition of This Week In The Nerd Fandom. We’ll be looking at the biggest announcements from this year’s convention, and also, be on the lookout for our upcoming One Piece Day coverage coming soon.

It’s The Gods Vs. The Kings: Justice League Vs. Godzilla Vs. Kong Has Been Announced!

Starting the coverage with one of the surprises at the beginning of SDCC, Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong is the newest collaboration project that involves DC Comics, Toho International, and Legendary Entertainment. It will be a seven-issue crossover that will see the barriers between worlds, and the monster verse begins to spill over into the DC Universe. It will also feature the creative team of Brian Buccellato (Writer) and artists Christian Duce and Luis Guerrero. Cover artists include Drew Johnson, Jim Lee and Scott Williams, Rafael Albuquerque, Francesco Mattina, Dan Mora, and Alan Quah. The Boys Spin-Off Series, Gen V Is Set To Premiere On September 29th

Amazon Studios unveiled its newest teaser visual for its upcoming college-themed series set in The Boys Universe, Gen V is set to premiere on September 29th, and a new trailer will premiere on Monday. According to the studio, it will be set in the fictional Godolkin University and will explore the training of the first generation of superheroes to know about Compound V, as students in a battle royale type of challenge for the school’s top ranking. The remaining episodes will premiere weekly as the season finale is set to debut on November 3rd.

Invincible Season Two Gets A New Visual Ahead of SDCC

IGN and Amazon unveiled the newest poster for season two and a special Invincible Episode that was also released today titled Invincible: Atom Eve. Fans can look forward to seeing the new season premiere on November 3rd.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake Set To Debut On MAX in August

The newest spin-off series in the Adventure Time Universe is almost here, Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake are taking our favorite lady heroines on a trip across the multiverse in a journey of self-discovery, as a powerful new foe is determined to take them down, and erase them from existence. It will premiere on MAX on August 31st.

Borderlands the Movie will premiere in August 2024

Lionsgate Films is set to take the Live-Action Adaptation based on the successful video game series, Borderlands, to the big screen with a brand-new release window. The new movie is set to premiere on August 9th, 2024. Meanwhile, the new interactive livestream series from Genvid titled Borderlands Echovision Live was also announced.

Mike Mignola Prepares To Take Hellboy Into The World Of Giant Mechas with Giant Robot Hellboy

Hellboy creator Mike Mignola has reunited with artist Duncan Fegredo for a new three-issue miniseries that takes Hellboy into the wonderful world of Giant Robots in Giant Robot Hellboy. The new series will debut in November, and Mignola recently spoke exclusively with THR about the new project.

Ash’s Journey Reaches Its Conclusion With The Ultimate Journeys Dub Set for a September Premiere.

While fans are already familiar with Ash’s journey reaching the end of the line, the English Dubbed series finale is finally making its way to Netflix. Pokémon: To Be A Pokémon Master is set to premiere on September 8th. Meanwhile, a new trailer and a sneak peek of Pokémon Horizons were also released, but there hasn’t been a release date set for the series premiere.
