Toei Animation Brings the Slam Dunk TV Anime To YouTube!

In a surprise announcement, Toei Animation is bringing that Genius, Hanamachi Sakuragi, and the Shohoku High Boys Basketball Team for a special exhibition match as the Slam Dunk TV Anime Adaptation heads to YouTube!

Just in time before the North American Box Office Debut of The First Slam Dunk, Toei Animation aims to capitalize on promoting the television anime based on Takehiko Inoue’s iconic sports manga, Slam Dunk. That’s right, the first ten episodes will be available to stream on Toei Animation’s Official YouTube Channel in High Definition, starting today at 5 pm PST with more episodes to be released until the entire season is available.

Slam Dunk was first published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine from 1990 to 1996 for a total of 31 volumes. The manga inspired a television anime in 1993 and had four anime film sequels. Viz Media licensed and released all 31 volumes of the manga in English.
