I, for one, am excited to see the return of our Kaiju King in a brand-new film called Godzilla: Minus One. Toho’s Long-Running Monster Film series has a new entry, and lucky for us, it will be released near the end of the year.
In December, it was teased that Toho was poised to make a big comeback in 2023, and it is Kaiju-sized. Toho announced that they will be releasing a new Godzilla film titled Godzilla: Minus One.
The film is set to take place in Japan, following World War II. The new film is set to debut in Japan on November 3rd, 2023 (Godzilla Day), set for the anniversary of the original Godzilla film’s Japanese Nationwide release date on November 3rd, 1954.
Takashi Yamazaki (Parasyte, Always: Sunset on Third Street, Stand By Me Doraemon) will be handling the script and directing for the film. The film hits theaters in Japan on November 3, 2023, with an official U.S. release announced for December 1, 2023.
