That’s right gang, Sonic the Hedgehog is coming back for a new adventure, and he isn’t alone because Tails will be joining in on the adventure. This morning Paramount Pictures and the Sonic Movie’s social media accounts recently shared the new teaser for the second film, set to be released on April 8th, 2022, cleverly named Sonic the Hedgehog 2, a nod to the 1992 Classic Platform Game by SEGA for the SEGA Genesis.
It was a short ten-second video clip of the title is revealed, which plays a version of the Emerald Hill Zone music as the letters form. The logo itself is the same as that used for the original 2020 film, but with a yellow ‘2’ featuring Tails’ twin foxtails. The first film had the biggest opening weekend for a Video Game Movie in the United States and Canada, It grossed $319.7 million worldwide, becoming the sixth-highest-grossing film of 2020 and the highest-grossing video game film adaptation of all time in North America.
