Writer Randy McKinnon is set to join Michael B. Jordan and Reginald Hudlin’s Static Shock Movie for Warner Bros. According to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter, Randy McKinnon who is known for his work on shows such as Disney Plus’s “Safety“, Netflix’s Horror Series “Chambers“, also creator and executive producer of the sport thriller “Wild Rabbit“.

Michael B. Jordan is producing the feature adaption of the DC/Milestone Media Hero Static with his company, Outlier Society production, and Reginald Hudlin who also was part of Disney Plus’s “Safety”.


Static is about a teenager who was caught up in a gang war, he was hoping to get revenge on a bully who was bullying him at the time and was exposed to an experimental chemical that was used in tear gas by the authorities. He gained electromagnetic powers, Virgil and the other people affected by the Chemical in the Gang War became known as “Bang Babies,” and the event known as the Big Bang.

The film will focus on the teenage superhero, Static. Static debuted in Static Issue No. 1 in Milestone Comics, four Black Artists and Writers, Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, Michael Davis, and Derrick T. Dingle came together and formed a Company; they stated that Minorities were severely being underrepresented in American Comics. Static was also one of the first heroes and Comic Series introduced by Milestone Comics in 1993.

The series would be adapted into an Animated Series by Warner Bros. And ran for four seasons, it was nominated for numerous awards and won a Daytime Emmy. It made history being the first African-American Superhero centered television series. The series is currently available to watch on HBO Max.
