Disney’s streaming service to offer nondisney shows.
According to Tech Crunch, it was announced that soon to be Netflix Competitor, Disney + will be featuring Non-Disney content at the launch of their Streaming site. Disney’s CEO Bob Iger confirmed in a call with investors following Disney’s earnings on Tuesday. The company licensed a CBS show for its service, leading to questions of what will their strategy be for content on their streaming site. Iger mentioned that Disney’s long term strategy will focus on the company’s own internally-sourced programming, it plans to launch this year with shows that are licensed outside Disney.
Disney ordered a 10-episode series called “Diary of a Female President” from Ilana Peña, writer of “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and Gina Rodriquez, who starred in CW’s Jane the Virgin.
